Teacher's Assistant - Special Education

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of daily programming including social, academic, behavioral, toileting, and self-help.
• Directly supervise children in the assigned program as directed by the teacher or administrator (e.g. bus loading and unloading, classroom assignments, lunch, recess, etc.).
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of working with special education children and other staff.
• Demonstrate an understanding of students' disabilities.

Requirements

• An associate's degree, the equivalent number of college coursework, or a passing score on the Praxis Parapro assessment are required.
• Attendance is an essential function of the job.
