About the Role

Join Playworks as a Teacher's Aide and support the School Age Program in the growth of all children in the group. This part-time position offers weekly pay, career growth opportunities, and health benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the wellbeing and safety of children.
  • Contribute to sales and retention through positive communication with families.
  • Assist with the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum under supervision.
  • Supervise children while providing care and support, including hygiene, learning, and developmental activities.
  • Promote positive child interactions and use Playworks behavior guide techniques.
  • Assist teachers with prepping and implementing planned curriculum.
  • Maintain an appropriate classroom environment.
  • Record information on department sheets and communicate concerns to supervisors.
  • Complete incident forms and communicate with families and supervisors while prioritizing confidentiality.
  • Stay calm and patient with children; seek help for behavior concerns when needed.
  • Be aware of each child’s special needs.
  • Communicate effectively with children, customers, and employees, maintaining high-quality customer service and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including classroom cleanliness, orderliness, and regular sanitization of equipment.
  • Assist in evacuation and emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Pass background check, work physical, and drug test.
  • Ability to move in a variety of motions, including bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/or pushing.
  • Capacity to handle and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Physical ability to perform required job duties, including standing on feet 80% of the time, with or without accommodations.

Schedule

Part-time: Monday–Friday, 3:30–6:30 PM.
