About the Role

Benchmark Behavioral Health is looking for an innovative, caring and compassionate Physical Education Teacher to join our collaborative team. Benchmark brings hope and inspiration through individualized care in a safe and nurturing environment to give strength and courage to our adolescent male residents.

Full time, year round position – Monday through Friday.

Pay

Salaried Exempt: $61,354 - $76,693/year for credentialed teachers, dependent on experience. Non-credentialed pay scale to be determined based on education and relatable work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach PE classes to Grades 7-12 in a psychiatric residential treatment setting
  • Design learning activities that will relate to students – grades 7 through 12
  • Monitor and maintain legal and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of humor; who thrives working with adolescent boys
  • The ability and interest to work with students at different grade and skill levels
  • Preferred Secondary Utah Teaching Certification in Physical Education - NOT REQUIRED
  • Preference for a Special Education endorsement - NOT REQUIRED
  • Two years' teaching experience in general or special education populations preferred
