About the Role
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will develop student capabilities in five essential core fitness components: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular strength, and body composition. You will also share the importance of sportsmanship and staying active while making a meaningful difference in students' lives.
Responsibilities
- Implement instructional activities that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs, learning styles, and special requirements.
- Utilize direct instruction techniques to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth for primary school success.
- Assist in assessing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
- Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and professionals both orally and in writing.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Ensure continuous and age-appropriate student growth and achievement.
- Participate in training and staff meetings.
- Meet professional obligations, including deadlines and scheduling.
- Evaluate student learning capabilities and celebrate accomplishments.
- Encourage students to uphold school values and model mature behavior.
- Engage in physical activities such as light lifting, sitting, standing, and moving throughout the campus.
- Travel to other campuses as required and participate in events outside of normal hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Substitute Certification.
- Pass a criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- A current teaching certificate from the state where the position is located.
