Job Responsibilities

Affords identified students (birth to 21 years) comprehensive reports of developmental, educational, and adaptive needs to meet Part B and Part C IDEA regulations.

Collaborates with families in natural environments and local school districts for lesson scheduling and itinerant instruction in communication and language development, literacy, assistive technology use, and other unique needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, as well as those with multiple disabilities.

Contributes to the development of appropriate individualized family service plans (IFSPs) and individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessments.

Participates in IFSP, including transition, and IEP meetings.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • South Carolina Teacher’s Licensure in Special Education Deafness and Hearing Impairments
  • Two years’ experience working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing
  • Effectively and cooperatively works with parents, teachers, and other professionals in service provision
