TEACHER, LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE - SPECIAL EDUCATION, MODERATE NEEDS - 9TH - 12TH GRADE
About the role
A Long-Term Substitute is responsible for teaching appropriate grade level standard-based curriculum to students, following school/district approved curriculum while the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period of time.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Maintains order and monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
- Observes, evaluates, reports, and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
- Prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
- Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions).
- Prepares, administers, assigns, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
- Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems and coordinates instructional efforts.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.

Pay
$30.00 per hour.
Schedule
Hours are flexible and determined by the needs of the school and the student population.
