TEACHER, LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE -MODERATE NEEDS - TEMPORARY
About the role
A Long-Term Substitute is responsible for teaching appropriate grade level standard-based curriculum to students, following school/district approved curriculum while the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period of time.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Maintains discipline and monitors student behavior.
- Observes, evaluates, reports, and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
- Prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
- Prepares student, attendance and activity reports as required by administrators.
- Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems and coordinates instructional efforts.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
