TEACHER, LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE, 2ND - 3RD GRADE, LANGUAGE ARTS
About the role
A Long-Term Substitute is responsible for teaching appropriate grade level standard-based curriculum to students, following school/district approved curriculum while the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period of time. This position is temporary and is needed from 8/17/26 - 11/6/2026.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Makes sure students follow the rules and behave appropriately.
- Monitors and reports on students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Plans lessons, units, and projects based on curriculum guidelines or state/local requirements.
- Teaches students individually and in groups, using various methods and technology.
- Evaluates student progress and reports grades using District software.
- Communicates with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address students' behavioral and academic issues.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
