Job Summary

The Teacher I at North Mississippi Health Services oversees the daily activities and development of area team members within the Child Care Center and supports the operation and maintenance of the center. This role requires experience in Early Childhood Education and involves excellent communication and organizational skills.

About the Role

Maintains a clean, safe and stimulating environment in the classroom, outside and other areas of child care. Follows an educational program of activities in line with NMMC educational goals and objectives. Plans and implements special activities in cooperation with NMMC Child Care goals and philosophy. Attends staff meetings and educational programs provided by NMMC.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements special activities in cooperation with NMMC Child Care goals and philosophy.
  • Attends staff meetings and educational programs provided by NMMC.
  • Aids in lesson planning, record keeping, and evaluating.
  • Maintains 15 hours of staff development.
  • Assists in lesson planning, record keeping, and evaluating.
  • Supports teachers in lesson development.
  • Assists with budget and operational planning.
  • Provides transportation support as assigned.
  • Ensures a happy, safe, stimulating environment at all times while children are in your care.
  • Communicates with parents through notes, behavior issues, and field trip forms.
  • Uses resources wisely and adheres to NMMC scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Required Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development.
  • Experience: 1-3 years. 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education.

Requirements

  • Knowledge: Classroom scheduling, classroom management, and age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Skills: Organizational, budgetary, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Physical Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, climbing, stooping/kneeling/bending, reaching overhead, grasping, speaking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination.
