About the role
The successful candidate will design and implement appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, analyze learning styles, and coordinate behavioral support and communication systems. They will also maintain a safe environment, collect data, and ensure confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement IEPs
- Analyze student learning styles
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet specific needs
- Select appropriate activities, materials, and equipment
- Integrate related services into the daily instructional program
- Conduct IEP team and special education meetings
- Develop and implement behavioral support plans
- Coordinate communication systems for students
- Follow daily schedules for students
- Direct teacher aides and classroom volunteers
- Maintain special health care procedures
- Maintain a safe environment
- Complete required reports and professional development plans
- Collect and analyze data to improve student learning
- Provide daily self-care needs for students
Requirements
Must maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as specified by MSSD. Other qualifications include a Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligibility for temporary or provisional certification, experience with individuals with disabilities, and a professional license pursuant to state law.
Qualifications
Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred. The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.
Skills
Knowledge of MSSD curriculum, ability to adapt teaching strategies, proficiency in related services integration, and skills in analyzing learning styles are essential.

Pay
$52,488 - $65,016 annually, with potential for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials.
