About the role
The ideal candidate will teach core English courses while also serving as the school's Yearbook and/or Publications Adviser. In this role, the teacher will guide students in documenting and preserving the school's history through a comprehensive journalism and publishing program.
Responsibilities
- Guide students in documenting and preserving the school's history through a comprehensive journalism and publishing program.
- Oversee student writing, interviews, copywriting, and editorial standards.
- Mentor students throughout the publication process.
- Foster students' creativity, collaboration, and journalistic integrity.
- Produce a high-quality yearbook and other school publications that accurately reflect the school community and its achievements.
Requirements
Strong English, writing, and editing skills are essential to effectively oversee student writing, interviews, copywriting, and editorial standards while mentoring students throughout the publication process.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in English or related field is required, along with at least 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level.
