About the role

Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Assess and record student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and administrators.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and align curriculum with state standards.
- Participate in department, school, and district meetings, as well as professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and school initiatives.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan teaching or administrative certification (or eligibility for certification).
- Demonstrated experience in classroom instruction or school leadership (preferred but not always required for alternative certification pathways).
- Strong knowledge of subject matter, curriculum standards, and effective teaching strategies.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
