Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Assess and record student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and administrators.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and align curriculum with state standards.
• Participate in department, school, and district meetings, as well as professional development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and school initiatives.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan teaching or administrative certification (or eligibility for certification).
• Demonstrated experience in classroom instruction or school leadership (preferred but not always required for alternative certification pathways).
• Strong knowledge of subject matter, curriculum standards, and effective teaching strategies.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
