Teacher - Drama

About the role

A regular 10-month contract with full benefits effective the 2026-2027 school year. By Board Policy 7440, a teacher must remain in his or her school for three school years.

Responsibilities

• Teach drama and/or enhancements courses to students in grades K-12.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback through formal and informal assessments.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects.
• Maintain accurate records and report student performance to parents and guardians.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements

• Master's degree in education or related field.
• Valid teaching license in the state of North Carolina.
• Experience in teaching drama and/or enhancements at the K-12 level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of current educational theories and practices.
• Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage classroom effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

NC Teacher Salary Scale plus local Board approved supplement. (See chart below)
