About the role

A talented, dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed for a challenging position on a dynamic education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to a multi-disciplinary approach and must be at least 25 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and therapists to support student progress
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• Illinois Teaching Certificate in Learning Behavior Specialist
• Pass all required background checks by facility or licensing agencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• At least two years of relevant work experience in special education
• Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other disabilities

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques
• Proficiency in using assistive technology
