About the role
A talented, dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed for a challenging position on a dynamic education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to a multi-disciplinary approach and must be at least 25 years old with a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and therapists to support student progress
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
Requirements
- Illinois Teaching Certificate in Learning Behavior Specialist
- Pass all required background checks by facility or licensing agencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- At least two years of relevant work experience in special education
- Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other disabilities
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
- Proficiency in using assistive technology
