The Early Learning Center at Blessing Hospital is seeking teachers to provide care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. This position involves working with one or more age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
About the Role
This role requires a deep understanding of child development and the ability to support the hospital’s mission and values. Teachers are expected to demonstrate consistent behavior aligned with the core values and contribute to the hospital’s strategic plans and performance improvement processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and education to children in a safe and nurturing environment
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities and routines
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall well-being of the children
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the developmental needs of each child
- Document observations and progress reports as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university related to child care and/or child development
- Or 1560 hours of child development experience in a licensed day care center
- Or completion of a credentialing program approved by the Department in accordance with DCFS standards
- Must meet Illinois Department of Children and Family Services requirements for Teacher Assistant position
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Pass a background check and physical exam as required
Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Knowledge of child development theories and practices
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks
