Responsibilities
- Design and implement a plan of instruction for a class of nine or ten children, each with the diagnosis of mild to moderate dyslexia or language-based learning disability.
- Instruct according to instructional goals derived from students’ psycho-educational evaluations and diagnostic teaching.
- Complete two written reports per school year.
- Lead three parent-teacher conferences per year.
- Support each student in your class as needed to secure other services provided by the school or by referral to outside sources.
- Work within our Integrated Intervention Model™ to establish and implement appropriate language goals for each student in the classroom.
- Engage parents as partners.
Requirements
- Full-time, on-campus position (5 days per week, 7:45-2:45).
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Special Education, Reading, or a related field.
- Experience working with children diagnosed with dyslexia or language-based learning disabilities.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing the Integrated Intervention Model™.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
