Teacher Assistants – Rockland, NY

About the role

HASC is seeking full-time and part-time Teacher Assistant positions in its Monsey, Rockland County program. This is an immediate hire opportunity for those who enjoy working with children and families in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in classroom activities
• Support children's social, emotional, and academic growth
• Participate in planning and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Current New York State certification as a Teacher Assistant
• Experience working with children with special needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Pass a background check
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Skills

• Knowledge of child development and learning theories
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
