About the role

The Teacher Assistant / Ultrasound position is a part-time role, primarily on-campus with some flexibility for hybrid work as permitted by the Director of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Provides help or tutoring sessions and proctor exams.
  • Led student discussions and unifying reviews.
  • Assists faculty in setting up equipment for lectures, labs or discussions.
  • Assists students with questions and provides constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrates respect, support, and empathy towards students.
  • Serves as a role model for students.
  • Follows the daily lesson plans as dictated by the curriculum.
  • Participates in scheduled events, department meetings, and training sessions as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Campus Director, Director of Education, and Program Director.

Requirements

  • Must possess a related certification (e.g., RVT, RDCS, RDMS, CCI, ARRT, MRI/ARRT/ARMRIT) and/or SPI.
  • Must be working in a related field.
  • The Teacher Assistant (TA) must earn at least four years of practical work experience in the field to be eligible to teach as a faculty member.
  • An associate's and/or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required when the TA begins participating in the mentorship program.
  • If the TA does not have the appropriate degree upon beginning the program, the TA must earn the degree to be eligible to teach as a faculty member.
  • The TA must complete training on campus two weeks before starting the mentorship program.
  • Must have strong technical skills, including all computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Canvas or related LMS usage for instruction (assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, gradebook, modules) is preferred.
