About the role
We are seeking an Ob/Gyn Medical Assistant with a passion for service excellence to join our Women's Health team in the Dallas area. The OB/GYN Medical Assistant would support providers in delivering high-quality care to women across all stages of life, including gynecologic and obstetric services. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient patient flow, excellent patient experience, and adherence to healthcare standards.

What You Will Do
- Provide clinical and administrative support to OB/GYN providers, including welcoming and rooming patients, answering calls, documenting vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Assist with routine gynecological, prenatal, postpartum, and women's health examinations and procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, capillary blood draws, and point-of-care testing such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, glucose, and hemoglobin.
- Collect, label, process, document, and prepare blood, urine, vaginal/cervical swabs, Pap smears, STI tests, cultures, and other specimens for in-house or reference laboratory testing.
- Assist with Pap smears, pelvic examinations, STI screening, contraceptive procedures, prenatal care, biopsies and other OB/GYN clinical services within scope of practice.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as permitted; assist with patient education, follow-up care, referrals, and diagnostic testing.
- Accurately document patient information, laboratory orders/results, and clinical care in the EHR, while following HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, infection control, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, support efficient patient flow and quality initiatives, and collaborate with providers, nurses, laboratory staff, and other care team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred. Will consider completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent years of experience.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in a women's health or obstetrics, family medicine or primary care setting strongly preferred.
- Previous hands-on experience performing venipuncture/blood draws is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with specimen collection, labeling, processing, and preparation for laboratory testing.
- Experience collecting urine, Pap smear, vaginal/cervical, STI, and culture specimens preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems; eClinicalWorks preferred.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Pashto, Burmese or Rohingya to assist a diverse patient population.
