Teacher Assistant Toddler / Preschool

About the role

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant to join our Toddler/Preschool program in East Windsor, NJ. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and eager to support children in a nurturing Montessori environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED
• CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• A genuine love of children
• Physically able to perform tasks such as kneeling, bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, and carrying children
• An understanding of health and safety guidelines
• Capacity to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
