Teacher Assistant - Temporary Assignment (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

Assists teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities. This is a temporary assignment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Completion of an AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test OR Associate’s (or higher) degree OR Two-years (60 Semester-Hour credits) of post high school general education studies
• One year of experience working with youth
• Speak, read and write in English

Requirements Prior To Start Date

• Copy of diploma, transcript or test results must be submitted at time of hire
• FBI fingerprint background check
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

• Related training or education

Schedule

• Temporary assignment for the 2026-2027 school year
• Location: Drachman Montessori K-8 Magnet (22nd St. & 10th Ave. Area)
• FTE: 0.75 (6 hours per day)
• 9-month work calendar

Pay

Higher pay rates funded through a community-approved override, guaranteed through June 2031. Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
