Teacher Assistant-SIPPS Reading Tutor

About the role

The position is a classified position announced to all applicants and remains open until filled. It is a SIPPS Reading Tutor position.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher with the conduct of a class
• Prepares class materials
• Corrects and records assignments
• Provides a wide variety of other services

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience
• The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree
• The ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer (may be required)

Qualifications

General Function: Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.

Pay

$17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table) (Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase for a promotion)

Schedule

3.8 hours per day / 174 days per year
