Teacher Assistant - PreK Counts

Full-time PreK Counts Teacher Assistant positions providing classroom support to children ages 3-5 within the Office of Early Childhood Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher by performing essential classroom tasks
• Supervise and accompany students during activities within and outside the classroom
• Aid the teacher by working with students in small groups or individually in instructional and learning activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma required (must obtain Credential of Competency upon hire)
• CDA or Associate's Degree preferred
• Ability to perform physical activities: stoop, run, sit, stand, walk, bend, lift children, carry thirty (30) pounds, work outside in all seasons, prepare food, hear and see within normal ranges
• Ability to work with and relate to young children and families of diverse backgrounds
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, the Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI

Location

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit PreK Counts program has classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA. More information on the PreK Counts program.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year).

Pay

• Starting at $19.94/hour for High School Diploma, CDA, or Associate's Degree (non-Early Childhood Education related)
• Starting at $21.08/hour for Associate's Degree (Early Childhood Education related)
