Teacher Assistant -Jefferson Co. Head Start

Summary

The Classroom Assistant Teacher works in partnership with the lead teacher to help maintain a structured, engaging learning environment for young children. This position involves assisting with daily classroom operations, supervising children during both indoor and outdoor activities, and helping facilitate hands-on learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and preparing instructional materials
• Guiding children through routines and activities
• Ensuring that health and safety standards are consistently upheld
• Communicating with families or guardians as needed to support each child's development and overall well-being

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

• Possess a Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Be actively working toward an associate or bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education
• Be enrolled in a CDA program with the expectation of completion within two years of hire

Compensation

Jefferson Co. $16.80 - $25.38 based on a candidate's verified education and experience.
