Teacher Assistant - Consensus (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

About the role

Assists teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in classroom activities
• Helps manage student behavior and discipline
• Participates in planning and implementing lesson plans
• Works with students individually and in small groups
• Assists in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment

Requirements

• Speak, read and write in English
• One year of experience working with youth
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Completion of an AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test OR Associate’s (or higher) degree OR Two-years (60 Semester-Hour credits) of post high school general education studies

Preferred Requirements

• Related training or education

Additional Requirements

• After Hire: Copy of diploma, transcript or test results must be submitted at time of hire
• FBI fingerprint background check
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

This position is temporary based solely on student over-cap. Length of assignment may be subject to change based to student enrollment.
