About the role

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to become a Classroom Assistant at Integration Charter Schools (ICS). Play a pivotal role in our vibrant learning community!

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for students.
• Help with instructional tasks, classroom management, and student supervision.
• Collaborate with the teacher in planning and delivering rigorous and engaging instruction.
• Implement various methods to promote a student-led and student-centered classroom.
• Create a safe and responsive learning environment.
• Teach and promote the development of the ICS core values: Integrity, Courage, Teamwork, and Community.
• Communicate frequently and effectively with families, providing information about instructional programs and student progress.
• Maintain accurate record keeping in ICS data sources.
• Engage in respectful and critical dialogue to contribute to the school's evolution.
• Ensure work-life balance and promote professional development.

Qualifications

• S Diploma/GED
• Familiarity with high-quality curriculum programs
• Strong command of all Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs
• A high degree of comfort and confidence engaging children in learning and interfacing with parents/caregivers
• Commitment to create and maintain a safe and responsive learning environment
• Capacity to develop strong relationships based on trust, respect, effective communication, and common goals
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple obligations, with strong attention to detail and excellent time management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Completion and pass pre-employment Fingerprinting and Reference check process
• Likely to be eligible for teaching certification pathway and NYS Teacher Loan Forgiveness and Public Service Loan Forgiveness
