Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Provide bilingual instructional assistance in the classroom.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials.
- Present classroom instruction.
- Perform various clerical duties.
- Supervise and assist students to enrich the delivery of education.
- Assist with the effective implementation of a specific grant if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Standard high school diploma or GED.
- Completion of Teacher Assisting Curriculum and ParaPro Test or equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English and the target ELL language.
- Sensitivity to other cultures and ability to work with students.
- Computer skills.
Paid Qualifications & Experience
- Earned associate’s degree or 60 semester hours of college credit.
- Two years of relevant experience within the last five years.
- Six semester hours in human growth and development.
Significant Contacts
- Frequent interaction with assigned classroom teacher and students.
- Periodic communication with parents under the direction of the classroom teacher or administrator.
- Frequent interaction with other personnel within the assigned school.
Physical Requirements
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of pressure occasionally.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed.
Terms of Employment
- Salary and benefits consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
