Teacher Assistant

About the role

Tulsa Public Schools is seeking Teacher Assistants to support teachers in creating effective learning environments for students. This role involves assisting with classroom management and activities to facilitate student learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Support students in completing assignments and participating in class activities
• Maintain classroom materials and supplies
• Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 48 hours of approved college credit, an associate degree from an accredited school, or successful completion of a district-approved highly qualified test
• One (1) year experience working with children preferred
• Possess or ability to obtain a Tier I certification through the Oklahoma Department of Education
• One-time payment of $12 to be paid to the state by candidate/employee
• Proficient or willing to learn Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Qualified candidates will have a strong commitment to education and a passion for supporting students' learning needs. They should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Skills
