About the role
The Summit Center is Western New York's leading provider of evidence-based services for children and adults with autism and other developmental, social, and behavioral challenges. Our team is dedicated to helping every individual we serve achieve their highest level of independence.
Responsibilities
- Supports the delivery of instruction and ensures fulfillment of IEP mandates by assisting with lesson plans, data collection, and classroom activities.
- Helps with implementing established behavior plans, home-school communication, and assumes teacher responsibilities as needed.
- Aids in conducting classroom activities that enhance skill development in areas of need.
- Assists with routine classroom functions and completes required paperwork.
- May travel to satellite locations upon request.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience working in a classroom/educational setting.
- One year of experience working with children.
Qualifications
- New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate or New York State Teaching Certificate (must be obtained within six months of hire).
