Teacher Assistant

About the role

The teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class under the supervision of the principal or other supervisor. The assistance includes preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and various other services.

Responsibilities

• Prepares class materials
• Corrects and records assignments
• Provides a wide variety of other services as needed

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience
• The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree
• The ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer may be required

Benefits

Salary Grade 3: $17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table)

Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase for a promotion

5.9 hours per day / 174 days per year
