About the role
Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher with the conduct of a class.
- Prepare class materials.
- Correct and record assignments.
- Perform a wide variety of other services as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para‑Professional Test.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer may be required.

Pay
Salary Grade 3 – $17.24 per hour (2026‑27 Support Salary Table). Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase.
Schedule
5.9 hours per day, 174 days per year.
