About the role
As an Art Teacher, you will provide art education that follows the NYS standards to children grades K-12. You will report to the Assistant Principle and you will work onsite. Available shifts are Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm with no weekends.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize art materials and equipment
- Provide therapeutic art instruction to individuals, small groups, and classrooms
- Provide leadership in a variety of school-wide art events and activities
- Work with school administration to deliver art experiences to students in a variety of school-wide venues on the agency campus
- Provide subject area instruction (Art) that follows the NYS K-12 Art Curricula and provides students with appropriate level art lessons and age experiences
- Develop and implement art instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels grades K-12
- Provide leadership in the school for promoting Art activities and experiences for students
- Work with teachers to encourage classroom, small group, and individual art activities, projects, and events
- Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports (IR) and incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students
- Provide leadership to assigned teacher assistants in the various clerical and non-instructional duties or needed for your classroom
Requirements
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Art Education
- NYS certification in Art Education
