Teacher Aide - Mill Middle School

About the role

The work involves relieving school teachers in a large suburban school district of that part of their duties which, while related to the teaching process, can be performed by noncertified personnel. The work requires the incumbent to have some knowledge of the specific area of instruction performed by the teacher to which the teacher aide is assigned. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment and to have considerable ability in getting along with children. Does related work as required. All work is performed under the direct supervision of the teacher or school principal.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students in all curricular areas
• Work closely with classroom teachers, students, and administrators
• Help students with assigned homework, studying for tests, organizational skills, etc.
• Monitor students in various locations inside and outside the school
• Reinforce behavioral expectations of the school
