Teacher aide/bus monitor

Responsibilities

• Works with staff in the classroom, on the playground, and in field trip supervision
• Assists the cook as needed
• Helps keep classroom facilities clean
• Replenishes materials and supplies for classroom activities
• Assists staff in preparing snacks
• Supports craft and culture classes
• Communicates bus rules prior to boarding and exiting to ensure order and safety
• Maintains discipline on the bus at all times
• Assists with boarding children onto and off of the bus, ensuring each child is secured in their safety harness before departure and remains restrained while traveling
• Enforces child drop-off procedures and policies
• Assists with any necessary paperwork
• Provides childcare during parent meetings and classes
• Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalency, and a minimum of six (6) months working with children. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
