Teacher Aide

About the role

The YCS Sawtelle Learning Center offers outstanding educational and related services for students with autistic spectrum disorder, ages 3-21. The center provides a high degree of structure, excellent staff to student ratio, and the systematic use of behavioral teaching techniques. Every aspect of the student’s day incorporates the theories of applied behavior analysis (ABA) with an average of 3-3.5 hours of individualized instruction (discrete trial teaching) per day.

Responsibilities

• Aiding the school with all aspects of classroom responsibilities and supervision of students during the school day.
• Providing quality daily care and supervision of students.
• Assisting with learning centers and any other designated classroom activities with the supervision of the Teacher.
• Staff will be expected to assist the students’ development and trust in adults, through the use of positive reinforcement and praise.
• Attending all school in-services and professional development.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Teacher aide experience preferred.
• 60+ college credits or a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Sub Cert preferred.
