Teacher Aide

About the role

Reports to: Assistant and Lead Teacher, Director of Burbank Early Childhood School. Employment Status: Classified/Hourly. FLSA Status: Non-exempt. Probationary Period: 120 work days. Supports the assistant and lead teachers with classroom. NOTE: The lists below are not ranked in order of importance.

Responsibilities

• Attend and fully participate in all classroom functions and activities, including, but not limited to indoor & outdoor exploration, field trips, and other school-wide events (such as open houses).
• Assist teachers with classroom curricular activities.
• Promote good social relationships between children.
• Ensure the safety of students.
• Be familiar with ODE and NAEYC standards, as well as the Burbank curriculum.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all information at all times, e.g., student records.
• Interact positively with staff, students, and parents.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and required in-services.
• Practice the Burbank Early Childhood School philosophy.
• Establish and promote successful relationships among children and adults.
• Contribute to a high-quality classroom environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
