About the role
The Special Education Teacher position is responsible for providing instruction and support to students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Teach students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Work collaboratively with parents, guardians, and other professionals to support student success
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid teaching license in Special Education
- Experience working with students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively
- Experience with assistive technology and accommodations
