About the role

The Special Education Teacher position is responsible for providing instruction and support to students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Work collaboratively with parents, guardians, and other professionals to support student success
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid teaching license in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with health impairments or social/emotional behavior disabilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively
  • Experience with assistive technology and accommodations
