TEACHER - ACADEMIC

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with state standards.
• Provide individualized instruction to meet IEP and 504 plan requirements.
• Absess student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
• Serve as a consistent mentor and advocate for students.
• Support credit recovery, tutoring, and academic skill-building.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster a safe, structured, and trauma-informed classroom environment.
• Support social-emotional learning and positive behavior development.
• Maintain compliance with state education regulations.
• Complete required documentation and progress reports in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills.

About the Role

Mountain Youth Academy is a residential program dedicated to supporting youth in a structured, therapeutic environment. We serve students ages 5-17 who benefit from individualized academic instruction, social-emotional support, and consistent adult mentorship. Our mission is to provide a safe, stable setting where young people can heal, grow, and achieve academic success.
