Instruct a course(s) recognized by the New York State Education Department. Prepare or modify curriculum and course outlines. Prepare daily or weekly lesson plans and conduct a schedule of formal instruction for residents of an Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facility.

Minimum Qualifications

• One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer

Requirements For Appointment At Each Level

• Teacher 2: Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty
• Teacher 3: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty
• Teacher 4: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty

Preferred Specialties

• Math (7-12) — Certification MUST be at the 7-12 grade level

Appointment Level

Appointment level is commensurate with certification.

• Teacher 3: SG-15 / $56,807
• Teacher 4: SG-17 / $63,361
