Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans to address inmate educational needs, including individualized training for assignments.
• Provides instruction for Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program.
• Administers necessary tests and evaluates inmates, providing direction as needed.
• Maintains discipline and security within the instructional area.
• Attends education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in-service training.
• Prepares required records and reports.
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials.
• Performs other education-related duties as requested by education administrators.
• Performs additional duties as required by assignment.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree.
• Adult Educator four-year permit and/or eligibility to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Any current Teacher Certificate appropriate for the assigned grade level (e.g., Teacher 1, 71721).
