About the role
The Tea Room Attendant is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. The position requires a friendly and hospitable demeanor to enhance the overall experience.
Responsibilities
- Take orders and serve food and beverages
- Make eye contact and greet customers with a smile and prompt service
- Locate items requested by the customer
- Assist customers to tables as necessary
- Be knowledgeable of popular teas and servicing procedures from 1773
- Perform data entry at the register and handle cash payments, checks, and credit cards accurately
- Prepare food items such as baking muffins, plating premade pastries, and preparing hot and cold beverages
Requirements
- Available to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to work independently and in groups over long periods of time
- Ability to work safely while wearing a colonial costume
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work with money, credit cards, and cash receipts
- Clear English communication skills
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
