Job Description
This position performs complex crime analysis work, involving the collection, processing, and dissemination of data and information to support and enhance investigations and prosecutions of criminal activities. Key duties include:
- Collecting, analyzing, and organizing sensitive and non-sensitive case data and files
- Preparing correspondence, charts, photo lineups, and graphs
- Developing detailed reports on criminal activity or other information
- Processing financial records for use as evidence
- Obtaining investigative information via correspondence and telephone inquiries
- Operating teletype and/or computer terminals to access various databases
- Testifying in criminal proceedings
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
- TLETS CJ Practitioner and CJIS Security Awareness certification within 180 days
- Education and experience relevant to position requirements
- Travel may be required for up to 5%
- If travel is 10% or over, a state of Texas Driver's License must be maintained
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience performing crime analyst duties for a law enforcement agency
- Knowledge of state laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements
