About the role
In this role, you will provide substance use counseling, facilitate rehabilitation programming, support inmate reentry planning, assign and supervise the work of others and assist in instructing others in program methods, procedures, and functions while maintaining compliance with Substance Use Program standards.
Qualifications
- Four years of experience in substance use treatment
- Current valid license as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services, OR current valid certification as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals, OR a current qualifying credential to conduct counseling in a treatment environment
Skills
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, the disease model of addiction, co-dependency, and related disorders
- Knowledge of counseling and recovery
- Detail oriented
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a therapeutic community environment
- Experience in the supervision of employees
- Familiarity with substance use screening tools and treatment programs
