Special Requirements

• Pre-K programs are licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and require an additional Criminal Background Check (CBC).
• If selected, complete the following steps:
  • Review video tutorials on the NCDHHS website.
  • Obtain an NCID (NC Identity Management Service) via this link.
  • Begin the CBC application process at the DHHS portal.
  • Enter addresses for the past 5 years. If you lived out-of-state, DHHS will email instructions for each state’s background check, which may incur additional costs.
  • Pay a $26.50 fee via credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) and print the receipt for reimbursement if hired.
  • Within 7 days of completing the application, get fingerprints via LIVESCAN. Bring a valid ID and $10 cash, and print the receipt for reimbursement if hired.

      • Guilford County Sheriff
      • High Point Police Department
  • After completing the CBC application and fingerprinting, log in to the DHHS CBC Portal with your NCID to view results.
  • If cleared, upload the QUALIFIED letter under the NC Child Care Act to your GCS application before HR approval to begin work.
