Requirements

• Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Hold or be working toward an Associate Degree or higher in birth-through kindergarten, child development, early childhood education, or an early childhood education related field

Qualifications

• Teacher assistants working toward the Associate Degree shall make progress by completing a minimum of six semester hours per year

Benefits

• Criminal Background Check (CBC) required
• Must complete the following steps:
1. Review video tutorials on NCDHHS website
2. Obtain NCID (NC Identity Management Service)
3. Begin CBC application process
4. Pay $26.50 fee with credit card (Visa or MasterCard only)
5. Get your fingerprints LIVESCAN
6. Receive email with results from DHHS CBC Portal
7. Receive a letter stating you are qualified under the NC Child Care Act

Pay

• $15.96 per hour

Schedule

• 10 month term
