Overview
Join TCEQ! We bring passion and drive to carry out our mission of protecting our state's public health and natural resources. This position is a member of our Remediation Division in Office of Waste.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist in the oversight of day-to-day activities within the Remediation Division, including highly advanced division policy, personnel matters, budgetary issues.
- Cook up division responses to requests from the Office of Waste, Commissioners, and the Executive Director.
- Supervise staff providing highly advanced technical support for the division, to include hiring, managing, and appraising the performance of staff; and assuring staff development and training.
- Aid in overseeing division policy, personnel matters, budgetary issues.
- Lead and coordinate special projects.
- Prepare highly technical documents and reports regarding division matters, and present the information to agency management, the legislature, and other parties.
- Aid in agency/division planning, policy development, and legislative analysis and implementation.
- Coordinate the evaluation of federal rules/policies and their impact on division programs.
- Represent the Division in internal and external meetings, seminars, and workshops.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
- Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department to include professional management experience where primary duties consists of planning organizing, controlling, and directing the work of an organization or formal subdivision, or team.
- Experience as a special assistant to a TCEQ director or deputy director developing management policies and directing/evaluating operations.
