About the role

Withum’s Tax Services Group is a team of tax specialists ensuring tax reporting obligations are met accurately and timely while minimizing or deferring tax payments. Their expertise spans international, US federal, state, and local regulations, supported by our affiliation with HLB International. Services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, International, and Private Client services.

This Tax Supervisor role, based in our Houston, TX office, involves leading all aspects of tax engagements—from planning to completion—including supervising and mentoring staff and building client relationships. Responsibilities

• Prepare complex C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns
• Prepare high net worth individual tax returns
• Review mid-level complexity C corp., S corp., partnership, and individual tax returns
• Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters
• Identify tax planning opportunities
• Handle and resolve tax controversies
• Train and supervise staff accountants

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Licensed CPA, or working toward certification with parts passed
• Master of Science in Taxation preferred but not required
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with keen attention to detail
• Proven innovative problem-solving abilities
• Ability to travel as needed
