Overview
SEGL/FIS/AME requests a V.P. level head count with experience in U.S. information reporting and withholding preferred and U.S. tax compliance, tax provision and tax return preparation experience. This role combines U.S. tax documentation and information reporting responsibilities with core tax compliance duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to Tax Department IRW headcount to ensure adequate coverage with respect to general U.S. tax form, treaty rate, and information reporting questions.
- Review treaty representations in U.S. tax forms to ensure validity.
- Communicate with stakeholders on SG’s IRS withholding tax accounts.
- Cook up information for annual 1042 and 1042-S reporting.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings applicable to banking and financial services entities.
- Absorb and communicate anticipated audit issues.
- Assist in coordinating the review of these returns.
- Prepare and review quarterly tax provisions prepared under IAS.
- Assist in coordinating the review by SG’s external auditors.
- Answer any queries from the external auditor related to the provision.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly business plan projections to support the financial statement benefits of deferred tax assets.
- Maintain and enhance tax data workflows, reconciliations, and controls.
- Leverage technology tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in tax reporting.
- Document workflows, controls, and technical processes.
- Identify opportunities for process automation, standardization, and risk reduction.
- Leverage technology tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in tax reporting.
Requirements
- Experience in U.S. tax documentation review, withholding and information reporting.
- Experience in U.S. tax compliance and IAS tax accounting.
- Strong technology skills and experience with data tools to manage compliance and reporting.
- Ability to participate in tax technology initiatives, including automation, reporting tools and system enhancements.
- 3-5 years tax experience preferably with some experience working in an accounting firm, or financial services company.
Preferred Profile
- Experience in U.S. tax documentation review, withholding and information reporting.
- Experience in U.S. tax compliance and IAS tax accounting.
Education
- B.A. or B.S.
- B.S. in Accounting or Masters in Tax
Competencies
- Strong technology skills and experience with data tools to manage compliance and reporting.
- Ability to participate in tax technology initiatives, including automation, reporting tools and system enhancements.
- 3-5 years tax experience preferably with some experience working in an accounting firm, or financial services company.
