Tax Site Coordinator
Position Summary
The Tax Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of assigned free tax preparation sites, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant tax preparation services. This role involves maintaining high-quality customer service, supporting staff and volunteers, managing site operations, and achieving tax filing goals.
What You'll Do
Site Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, coordinate setup, activation, and closure activities, manage workflow, monitor performance, and implement strategies to achieve service delivery goals.
Staff and Volunteer Coordination: Coordinate schedules, monitor attendance and participation, support onboarding and training, provide guidance and coaching, and escalate concerns.
Tax Preparation Quality and Compliance: Ensure returns are prepared according to IRS standards, monitor preparers, complete quality reviews, and maintain compliance with IRS requirements.
Customer Service and Partner Relations: Maintain positive relationships, serve as primary contact, support efficient service delivery, address concerns, collect feedback, and ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Compliance, Documentation, and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with IRS guidelines, maintain documentation, monitor risk, and assist with monitoring visits and audits.
Performance and Reporting: Track and report on filing goals, monitor performance indicators, and collaborate with leadership to address trends impacting productivity, quality, or customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Human Services, Workforce Development, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation, VITA programs, financial services, or a related field.
Experience coordinating staff, volunteers, or customer service operations preferred.
Strong knowledge of individual income tax preparation and federal tax law.
Experience utilizing tax preparation software such as TaxSlayer or similar platforms.
Experience working in high-volume customer service environments preferred.
IRS Quality Review Certification required within first 90 days of employment and must be recertified yearly.
Benefits
