Why Join Us?

You know tax. You understand the forms, deadlines, terminology, and processes that come with working in a tax practice, and you're ready to put that experience to work in a role focused on keeping clients and professionals moving forward. As a Senior Tax Services Specialist at Frost, you'll be an integral part of our Tax team, combining your tax knowledge, organizational skills, and commitment to exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and process individual and business tax returns, extensions, estimates, engagement letters, organizers, and other tax-related deliverables.
  • Apply your understanding of common federal and state tax forms, filing requirements, terminology, and tax processes to effectively support tax professionals and clients.
  • E-file tax returns and extensions, monitor acknowledgments and rejections, identify issues, and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Track tax due dates, extensions, estimates, and client deliverables to help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for clients, answer routine tax-process questions, assist with document and information requests, and provide responsive, professional service throughout the client experience.
  • Work within tax preparation and workflow software, preferably CCH products, and assist with client portal access, document uploads, activation, changes, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic client files, including scanning, storage, routing, and management of tax documents.
  • Research questions, identify potential issues, and use sound judgment to resolve problems or determine when escalation to a tax professional is appropriate.
  • Help manage workflow, priorities, and projects within the Tax practice while looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and client service.
  • Collaborate with tax professionals, administrative team members, and other Frost offices to provide backup and support during peak periods and throughout the year.
  • Handle sensitive client and firm information with the highest degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience supporting tax services, preferably within a public accounting firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of individual and business tax forms, tax terminology, filing requirements, extensions, estimates, and tax-season processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with tax returns and related documents—not simply general administrative experience.
  • Ability to recognize common tax forms and understand how documents and information flow through the tax preparation and filing process.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients regarding tax processes, deadlines, documents, and next steps.
  • Experience with tax preparation, workflow, document management, and client portal software; experience with CCH products is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the judgment to independently resolve routine issues while recognizing when a matter should be escalated.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and client information.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak tax seasons as needed.
  • Ability to work on-site.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation that reflects your experience, specialized tax knowledge, and contributions.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer support.
  • Professional development opportunities to continue building your tax, technology, client service, and professional skills.
  • Career growth opportunities to develop into more advanced technical, operational, or leadership roles.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Well-being resources designed to support your overall wellness.
